Summit Point Skid School

Are you looking to master your car’s handling? Then our Skid Schools are for you!

NEXT SUMMIT POINT SKID SCHOOL:
HALF-DAY (pm) SUNDAY MARCH 9, 2025 – CLICK HERE!

Summit Point Skid School is our special half-day class to focus on core fundamentals of vehicle handling and car control.
The goal is to learn to recognize and recover from front tire skids (understeer) or rear tire skids (oversteer) by driving many, many laps around a 200 foot wet skidpad. Hopefully we can get you drifting all the way around the circle too! SPSSes are offered with a simple schedule and a relaxed pace. Show up, breeze through registration & tech inspection, attend a safety meeting/classroom, then go on and off the skidpad as you please for 3-4 hours. You can use your own car by yourself or use one of our Crown Vics/Chargers with in-car instruction! Entries will be strictly capped so everyone gets a lot of seat time. Can you think of a better way to spend half a day sliding around?

Eligibility: All participants must be at least 18 years old with a valid drivers license.

Tech Inspection: click here for the form you complete and submit to self-tech your car. It is the responsibility of the participant to assure safe mechanical condition of the vehicle at all times. It is strongly recommended that vehicles be thoroughly and routinely inspected by a reputable technician beforehand. Refunds or credits will not be available for cars that fail tech.

Convertibles: Rollbars are required unless the car is factory equipped with rollover protection, and it must state such in the manual. Drivers must bring manual and present it at tech. Mazda MX5/Miata, Honda S2000, and Dodge Viper convertibles (among others) all need 4 point roll bars added. All convertibles must pass a “broomstick test” as well. Please inquire before registering if you have any question about the legality of your convertible. Sorry no refunds or credits if you register and/or show up with a convertible that doesn’t pass tech.

Helmets: optional/not required for skidpad but if used, must have Snell M2010/SA2010 or newer rating and be in good condition. Rental helmets are available directly from OG Racing in advance.

Passengers: generally not allowed for a Skid School, but TBD per event

Co-Drivers/car sharing: Co-driving/car sharing is fine at Skid Schools but they must register themselves separately with the same car (i.e. it’s two different entries.)

Weather: These events will take place “Rain or Shine, Hot or Cold” but may be rescheduled or paused for more significant weather.

Cancellation: All sales final – no cancellation, refund, or credit. An entry is transferable to another person for this event only and must be completed by 48 hours prior.

Waiting List: If you register as a Waiting List entry because the event is already full, we will email you by 24 hours prior if we have a spot for you. If not, that entry will automatically be applied to the next SPSS.
